BUILDING YOUR OWN COMPUTER
RECORDING STUDIO

This is a seminar on building your own IBM clone computer for recording audio
and possibly video. We dispel myths and mysteries about the terminology and how
parts work. We investigate your needs, then show you how to build a system to
satisfy those needs. Students will be required to purchase a set of tools and
the computer parts they need to finish assemblage. You will end up with a take
home computer for home recording. Some of the software's we
have will be free for use during the training. This will build a good foundation
for understanding what goes on inside your computer so that you can grow your
system to accommodate future upgrades and expansions.

What it is, how to determine what you need. Parts, Connecting and
Wiring, Hard Drive, Formatting, CD & DVD Drives, Floppy, Memory, Mother Boards, CPU
Speeds, DRAM/RAM. Removing the mysteries and myths.
WK 2 ASSEMBLAGE
Where to purchase parts, get the best deals. Putting together the
computer of your dreams. Testing, Bios, Booting, Knowing what it's doing on the startup.
WK 3 CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATING SYSTEM SOFTWARE LOADING
Software install, Troubleshooting, Short Cuts, Resolving conflicts,
Interrupts, Crashes, Ethernet, etc.
WK 4 INSTALLATION OF YOUR AUDIO SYSTEM
Installing your audio cards and GUI. Digital interfaces. Options.
Making it work! You Pass!
